Dear Ian,

Although the w/e 19th 20th April (1997) may seem to have been some while ago you may be interested to know that as a result of your efforts we have received considerable praise for the work you and the Navvies Anonymous were engaged in during that period at Fosse Way Lane on Lock 18.

You will be pleased to note that the brick work in the Lock Chamber and the work done to install the lock ladder looks fine and now awaits its first customer to ascend from a boat.

The work which you and the team did during that week end was of a high standard and is very much appreciated by members of the Trust.

I would be grateful if you would kindly pass on our heartfelt thanks to all your members who did such a magnificent job.
